October Snapshot
Hola, mommy and papa!
It's that time again for my monthly snapshot :) Can you believe it's almost the end of the year?

I'm getting used to my new schedule with Miss Erica at Dynamic Solutions on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11am, Miss Jennifer at Run, Jump and Play on Wednesdays at 12:30pm, and Miss Lilia at Communicate Better on Wednesdays and Fridays at 2:30pm. Phew! I am a busy little kiddo.

After my appointment with Miss Erica, I normally stop by the playground right down the street at Carroll Gardens. Miss Sarah gets me to push the green tire swing to help with my muscles and stability!

Before I see Miss Lilia, I like to stop by the garden on President Street and 5th Avenue. Here I am looking for the little kitty cat that lives there.

One day, I saw this man across the street from the garden and I really really really wanted to take a picture with him. Miss Sarah had no idea why I liked it so much. I don't know why either.

I'm happy to be at Jugemos y Cantar for another year. There are a lot of new classmates and I like to set a good example by doing good listening.

In October, I learned all about the color orange (or naranja in espanol), pumpkins and Halloween. I even got to pick out some baby pumpkins to take home and decorate!

There were lots of houses in the neighborhood with spooky and fun decorations.

Miss Sarah and I worked on my "sssssnakey Ssss" sounds and my "Ahhhhh" sounds a lot this month. We read a cool book called Scaredy Cat SPLAT during breakfast and lunch that helped me practice my "sssssnakey Ssss" sounds. Like Ssssplat! And sssspooky! And sssscary!

She showed me that sometimes instead of saying, "Let's go to the pahhhrk." I will say, "Let's go to the poke." So she pokes me until I use my "ahhhh" sound! Or when I want a "maaahhhrker," I call it a "moker." She will say, "A moker? What's that?" One afternoon, I was a bit grumpy and I got purple "maaahhhrker" and tears all over my face.

We still work out my finger muscles, even though Mr. Allan is gone. This month was extra exciting because I'm learning how to write my name! Thanks to mommy, I am super good at writing the letter "M"!

I love going on adventures into Manhattan! Especially when I get to ride all the different trains. We took the F train to West 4th Street and walked to Washington Square Park where I went to the fountain and played in the playground.

Miss Sarah always gets so happy when I can climb tricky ladders all by myself because not too long ago, I could barely climb them without falling. It takes a lot of hand-eye coordination and excellent foot placement. I even alternate my feet, left-right-left-right!

We also rode the blue A, C, E line for the first time to The Museum of Natural Science in the Upper West Side, where I learned about big animals like dinosaurs and there was a special exhibit on whales! I know a lot about the different trains and all the stops it makes. Reading the train signs helps me to recognize the letters of the alphabet!

For most of October, I was really excited and looking forward to... Halloween!!! When the day finally came, I wore the best costume EVER: SNOOPY the white puppy! Ruff, ruff! I went party hopping in Brooklyn at the Jugemos y Cantar costume party to the Trick or Treat party at the Brooklyn Childrens' Museum. Everywhere I went, I made people smile :)

The best part is mommy even dressed up as a puppy!

I like to keep it classy with my strategic finger placement for photos.

My favorite books this month were: Scaredy Cat Splat, Brave and the Honey Hunt. I got really excited about the book and movie Brave.
My favorite songs were: "Wheels on the Bus (still!)" and "Bingo was his name-O"
My favorite phrases are: "I woooo-ve you!" and "Hey! She's looking at me!" "Oh, I did good listening today. Can I get a chocolate?"

All in all, it was a fun October! The leaves are changing. It's getting cooler outside. I'm learning more and more every day. Fall is so much fun! Thanks for loving me so well, mommy, papa, sissy, grandma and abuelita!

Abrazos y besitos,
Mikko

P.S. I know my cheeks are irresistible, but could you let Miss Sarah know she's leaving lipstick marks on them!

Mikko's September Snapshot!

Hola, mommy y papa! I had a great September.

I said adios to Summer Camp and hello to a new semester at Jugemos y Cantar!

I said adios to my therapists Mr. Allen, Miss Katie and Miss Janet.

But no worries! I said hello to my new friends Miss Erica, who helps me with my muscles and Miss Liana who helps me with my talking and I still get to see Miss Jennifer!

Miss Sarah Kathie lets me play a lot of games!

This one is called the "Happy Snakey Game"! My job is to jump over the snake and land on both feet without  falling down or using my hands. If I do it right, Snakey gets super excited and starts wiggling. This  game helps me with my balance, coordination and jumps.

This is me playing the Pointy Finger Game! I press really hard with my pointy finger and slide it into my little pan. This helps me with my hand eye coordination and finger strength!

Miss Sarah Kathie taught me a new way to ride on the big boy swings. I have to stay centered in the swing and use my leg muscles to push, push forward and keep my balance when I let go!

I have a lot of fun with Miss Sarah!

But when I let the "Whiney Bugs" come out or do bad listening, she always puts me in Time Out for 3 minutes or when I stop crying and am ready to do good listening again.

I've been making a lot of friends whenever I go to the parque!

**************************

I learned that it was not Summer anymore, but Fall!

My favorite songs this month were "Every Move I Make (Waves of Mercy)," "Wheels on the Bus" <---this one never gets old! and the "Hot Dog" song!

My favorite books this month were "Things That Go: Trains!" "The Honey Hunt" and "Put Me in the Zoo"!

My favorite sentences this month were: "Why? Why? Why?" "Don't say because!" "I like this a little, but I like this big!" "Do I get a chocolate?"

My most exciting milestone is learning how to pedal my tricycle all by myself!

All in all, it was a great September! And I know October will be even more fun!

Abrazos y Besitos,

Mikko
